Tonight, President Obama will mark the end of his first year in office by delivering a State of the Union address expected to touch on many topics. Obama, suffering from dropping approval levels, continued job losses and the Democratic defeat in MA, is in a desperate fight to repair his Party’s image as many Americans ask why health care and not the economy has been the President’s priority.
Republicans have tasked Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell with the response to President Obama’s speech. McDonnell, who won the purple state in November and took the seat back for the Party, is hoped to give a speech which will remind Americans of why Washington has continued to fail them with the Democrats in charge. As Republicans, we are encouraged that our Party has focused on important economic issues and hope we are seeing a turn away from the divisive social issues that have dragged us down in the past.
RRM wants to know: what do you think needs to be said tonight? What are your top concerns, and what should the GOP focus on to continue our powerful momentum coming off our recent victories?
