MA Primary Results

Last night, Scott Brown won the Republican Primary for the MA Special Senate Election, to take place on January 19th, 2010.He will now face the winner of the Democratic primary, Martha Coaxley. Scott won the Republican race by 78%.

Brown has painted himself as a mainstream Republican. Massachussetts Republicans are hoping to turn this blue state red, though they acknowledge that the race will be a very uphill one. The previous holder of the seat was Senator Ted Kennedy, who held the seat for decades and was well-liked by his constituents. However, it is important that the GOP has moderate Republicans fighting for the Party across the nation.

It will be interesting to see how this race goes in the next weeks leading up to the election. RRM will continue to update you as news develops.
